Description
Quartermaster, an Arlington, Virginia-based maritime intelligence startup, raised $140 million in a Series B funding round led by Insight Partners, comprising $100 million in equity and $40 million in venture debt from Stifel. The company operates SmartMast, a weather-hardened system combining cameras and radios mounted on vessel masts, currently deployed on more than 650 vessels across 25 countries with over 800 units shipped. New investor Overmatch Ventures joined returning investors including First Round Capital, Quiet Capital, Steel Atlas, TMV Logistics, BoxGroup, and Operator Partners. The funding will support expansion of Quartermaster's real-time maritime data network, which has already achieved coverage of nearly 46 million square kilometers.
