Description
Phantom GI, a Tel Aviv-based medical device startup founded in 2025, has completed a $5 million seed round with Pitango HealthTech as the lead investor, joined by RAD Biomed and RUNI Ventures. The company is developing PercStoma, a device that creates an ostomy in approximately 20 minutes using a single-needle puncture under local anesthesia, avoiding the need for invasive abdominal surgery. The technology was inspired by founder Eran Shlomovitz's successful treatment of a cancer patient with bowel obstruction using conventional medical equipment and X-ray guidance. PercStoma is currently under investigation and has not yet obtained regulatory approval.
